Be the voice you want to hear in the world.
The Southern California International Review (SCIR), USC’s global undergraduate journal of international affairs, is now inviting outstanding underclassmen with a passion for international relations to apply a position on our editorial board.
We are the largest undergraduate IR journal on the West Coast and have a worldwide submission pool, receiving research from Harvard, Stanford, Oxford, Georgetown, and Australian National University, just to name a few. We also distribute our issues globally – they can be found as far afield as North Korea. As an editor, you will become a leader in USC’s IR community – our editorial board has produced two Fulbright Scholars in the past five years.
Applicants must be able to work in a fast-paced and fun environment. Duties include selection, editing, and layout design for the articles we publish. There will be many deadlines to meet throughout the year and each editor plays an instrumental role in ensuring issues are published on time. Current freshmen and sophomores with majors or minors in the School of International Relations, or related programs, are encouraged to apply. Prior research, writing and editing experience is highly preferred. Additionally, experience with graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign is a plus.
