Be the voice you want to hear in the world.
The Southern California International Review (SCIR), USC’s global undergraduate journal of international affairs, is now inviting outstanding underclassmen with a passion for international relations to apply a position on our editorial board.
We are the largest undergraduate IR journal on the West Coast and attract research from around the world – our issues can be found as far afield as Pyongyang University of Science and Technology in North Korea. A Daily Trojan article on our recent release symposium can be found here. As an editor, you will become a leader in USC’s IR community – our editorial board has produced two Fulbright Scholars in the past two years.
Applicants must also be able to work in a fast-paced and fun environment. Duties include selecting, editing, and designing the layout of all prospective articles to the journal’s standards. There will be many deadlines to meet throughout the year and each editor plays an instrumental role in ensuring issues are published on time.
Prior research, writing and editing experience is highly preferred. Additionally, experience with graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign is a plus.
The deadline for application is Friday, May 2, 2014. The application itself can be found here. Interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible. After submission, you will be notified via email if you have been extended an interview. Check out the SCIR website to learn more.
